The Undergraduate programme in hospitality at School of Tourism and Hospitality Management, Ansal University is offered in collaboration with Vatel International Business School Hotel and Tourism Management.

B.Sc. Hotel Management & Catering Technology- 3 years

 

Eligibility

Overall aggregate of 50% marks in 10+2
in any discipline.

Admission will be granted purely based on merit.
The merit list will be prepared as given below:
• 70% weightage to 10+2 marks
• 30% to personal interview

Designed with technical inputs from our partners, industry experts, extensive in-house research and dialogue with key industry players; our courses uniquely integrate academic rigor with practical application to produce professionals who will not be just effective managers, but also dynamic agents of change and innovation in the Hospitality and Tourism Industry.

 

To develop integrated knowledge of programming, students visit hotels for Training/ Industrial Exposure at the end of every semester, beside undergoing through training for six months in any national and international hotel chain.

 

The teaching is a good mix of class room lecture and practical classes with  prospective candidates undergoing through  training on Hospitality and Catering Technology in the School and doing their           Industrial and Exposure Training in Hotels across the world. This will help in their training for taking up higher-level positions in Hotel across the Globe.  For the industry, such candidates will fill the void at the Managerial positions.

STHM also entered into collaboration with Vatel Business School (France), one of the best Hotel School of the world to achieve our objective of continuing development to become world class School. Students  can opt for semester study in any of the Vatel School across the world, and also undergo through  Industrial Training in respective Country beside doing summer internship abroad.

 

Dedicated and research oriented faculty implements teaching-learning process at SOTHM through rigorous planning and keeping in view the industry needs. Our course curriculum is designed conforming to the current International requirement and is reviewed time to time as per the need. Value addition is continuous focus and objective of curriculum. Development of the Operational and Managerial skills with respect to the Global environment in the field is prime focus.  We provide our students with the opportunity for meaningful academic development of knowledge with respect to the world environment. The emphasis is given on Industry orientation and our graduates are effective in management of the operations and soft skills.

Students undergo classroom lectures, tutorials, case studies, assignments, seminars, workshops, multimedia presentations, and lectures from guest speakers from the industry and academia. Role plays,  project work practical, industrial and exposure training with leading hotels in India and abroad, industry visits are some of the methods continuously used and monitored for timely revision as per the International Standards.

To develop integrated knowledge of programming, students visit hotels for industrial training & exposure (National & International) & are exposed to research projects on the topics related to syllabus, latest trends in technology & innovative  practices being followed by the industry. SOTHM believes in active Industry-Institution partnership and collaborated with Hotels for Academic Partnership.

In view of the rapidly-changing standards in the hospitality trade, SOTHM believes strongly in shaping up its students with a competitive edge and bringing them at par with the global standards by giving them the required professional inputs right within India. The Marcopolo Student-Exchange Programme and a host of possibilities of summer and winter internships within India and at various countries across different continents of the world are being organised under the arrangement

A Joint Partnership is prevailing between Crowne Plaza Hotel, Gurgaon an IHG Hotels and SOTHM for closer Collaboration for Educational Excellence.

 

Cooperation is in the field of Faculty Exposure, students Training and Visit of Industry Experts to conduct special sessions at SOTHM beside many other opportunities are being utilized for academic development.

 

Continuous support is being provided by the IHG Group for academic requirements during the session.

As we have strong tie ups with the industry, we are able to propose to our student interesting outdoor catering and events, that have become great learning events to the participating students, last year our students went all the way to Austria and Turkey for different events.

Internships at STHM is carried out at 2 levels
30 days exposure at the end of 1st Semester
22 weeks internship at various hotels in India and abroad in the IV semester.

Renowned and recognized hotels of the Indian and International chains have readily offered internship opportunities to our students.
Our students are currently doing their 22 weeks internship in Inter Continental & Four Seasons hotels in Mauritius.
Such International Exposure widens the outlook of students and leads to a better understanding of the hospitality trade as whole.
