Skills and knowledge are the driving forces of economic growth and social development for any country. In the ‘digital age’ as knowledge is available on click of a mouse and even on a mobile at the ‘sweep’ of a finger. Acquiring specific employable skills has become an essential prerequisite for becoming a successful employee or entrepreneur. The persons with higher levels and better standards of skills adjust more effectively to the challenges and opportunities in the Organizations. In India, Millions and Millions of Indian youth require to acquire the skills which could fetch a decent employment.
To achieve the massive target of skilling, it is of utmost importance to have trainers of excellent quality that are capable of training people in several fields. The availability of good quality trainers is a major area of concern. There is a lack of focus on development of trainers with a clear livelihood path which can make this an aspiration as career choice and can ensure adequate supply of good quality trainers in every sector.
Further, there is a growing concern for job creation and economic development by generating interest in entrepreneurship to augment the supply of entrepreneurs for self-employment. The education and training can inculcate and develop entrepreneurial capabilities in people so that they could set up their own enterprises which can provide employment to the above skilled persons.
In the above perspective, Ansal University has setup a ‘School of Skill and Entrepreneurial Development’ (SSED) to augment the supply of skilled manpower, quality trainers and entrepreneur. The SSED, in its process of development is arranging the required collaborations with Govt. and private organizations to achieve its mission of Skilling India to contribute towards making India a modern country.
