Sushant School of Design, Ansal University had the pleasure of hosting India’s first lady of fashion, Ms. Ritu Beri at its campus on April 29, 2016.

Ms. Beri is the mentor of the Fashion and Textile programme at the Sushant School of Design (SSD) and is an Advisory Board member of the School. On her maiden visit to the University, she announced the Best Student Award for the most promising student of the Design School. She also offered three top students the opportunity to work with her. She spoke on her passion for fashion and had a very interactive session with the students and faculty members. She advised the young students to be open to life and be passionate about whatever they do. She said that the state of mind of an individual should be his inspiration. Her presence at the campus was a big moment for the entire design fraternity, who look up to her as a style icon.

She also declared an award for Best Student and an opportunity will be given to that candidate to work in her Design Studio.


Ms.Shalini Misra  (An interior architect based in London)

Shalini Misra  is a leading Architecture and Interior Designer based in London. Founding her company in 1996, Shalini Misra, the Director of the company has built a unique and successful business specialising in designing residences around the world. The team have worked on projects in the UK and abroad ranging from new builds, structural alterations and complete restorations to decorating single rooms and sourcing all furnishings down to the last minute and well thought out detail.

Her education includes; University of Planning and Architecture New Delhi B. Arch 1990, Carnegie Mellon Pittsburgh: Research associate: Intelligent Offices 1990, Columbia University New York: Urban Planning 1991 and University College London : M. Sc in Virtual Reality 1995. She has worked with leading architectural and interior design offices in India, America and the UK before establishing her own interior practice in 1996.

She has been associated with Sushant School of Design in the past as our Mentor for our Interior Design courses and is launching a series on lectures on Interior Design titled “Under the Skin” from June 11th, 2016. As part of our education drive we are pleased to announce the soon to be launched lecture series, ” Beyond the Skin” written and conducted by London based Architect and Interior Architect Shalini Misra and her team. Website –

It is her personal development of her skills in  Pure Architecture to encompass Interior Architecture that has inspired the lecture series

Internationally there is a substantial rise of Interior Architecture courses on offer. The reason is simple. In many top professional architectural practices, the percentage of Interior Architecture related input can equal, even surpass that of main stream architecture
